A 1920s adaptation of the Adventure's of Baron Munchhausen- The tumultuous story of the Baron set in late 18th Century had several links to the ways of life in 1920s America.

In this adaptation the Baron was inspired by Al Capone an infamous gangster, The Baron, the name everyone knew him by, was breaking the law with his production and sale of Alcohol during the Prohibition.

The Angel of Death in this adaptation is the ghost of a fallen World War One soldier, this haunts the Baron and tortures him with memories of his time fighting during the Great War. The pluming smoke coming from the legs of the 'soldier' are foreshadowing the next World war and America's deadly invention, the atomic bomb.

When the Baron goes on his adventures he goes back in time and meets Vulcan, an Egyptian Pharaoh and his beautiful wife Venus.  Vulcan wears the head piece similar to Tutankhamen, continuing on from the inspiration from the 1920s and the discovery of Tutankhamen and his tomb in the year 1922.

Venus wears the clothing of an Egyptian women, however she wears a belt low on the hips as most women would have done during the '20s. She was designed in the image of Venus from Botticelli's painting 'The Birth Of Venus,'
